Kayla Hense is a writer and actor based in New York. After studying philosophy and art history at school, she trained at the Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute. She has additionally attended various acting workshops under instructors from the Royal Shakespeare Company and Juilliard.

Her written work seeks to explore human relationships, specifically how people think, communicate and identify. She has been published in online magazines and literary journals. Excerpts from her Masculinity Project were published in a men’s health textbook used at universities world-wide. Her play, Pastiche, premiered at the Chain Theatre’s 2024 Summer One-Act Festival in New York.

In 2021, she founded and edited for The Round Table, a writing group for writers across all mediums. Its members have since gone on to various publications and off-Broadway productions.
